S&P Global’s upcoming October 27 earnings release represents the key catalyst for trader positioning on Q3 Ratings revenue, as the segment’s performance hinges on corporate bond issuance volumes and credit demand amid elevated Treasury yields near recent highs. Pro forma comparisons are complicated by the July Mobility spinoff, which reduced reported totals and introduced volatility in segment trends; Q2 pro forma revenue reached $3.68 billion overall, though growth varied across businesses. Analysts currently project total Q3 revenue near $3.41–3.63 billion and adjusted EPS of $4.42, down year-over-year, reflecting margin pressures and uneven activity in ratings versus market intelligence or indices. Recent AI enhancements and new product launches in risk assessment may support forward demand, yet broader economic uncertainty around rate paths and issuance could influence the outcome. Market-implied odds aggregate real-capital trader views on whether Ratings will clear the undisclosed threshold.
