Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr extends through June 2027, and his clearest recent comments—such as the August 2026 Vogue interview stating the 2026-27 campaign is “probably my last year”—point to completing the season rather than stepping away before year-end. The 41-year-old remains a regular starter in the Saudi Pro League while pursuing individual milestones, and his November 2026 retirement from the Portugal national team does not meet the market’s club-specific criteria. Trader consensus at 97 percent reflects these contractual and performance realities, which make an intra-season announcement unlikely absent a significant injury or unforeseen personal decision that forces an earlier exit.
This polymarket will resolve to "Yes" if Cristiano Ronaldo officially announces his retirement from club soccer by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". To resolve "Yes", the announcement must clearly state that Ronaldo is retiring from club-level professional soccer. The announcement must come from Ronaldo himself or his official representatives. Retirement from international soccer alone will not qualify. The retirement must be intended to take effect immediately or prior to the start of the next club season following the announcement. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from Cristiano Ronaldo; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
