This market will resolve according to the next UFC fighter that Merab Dvalishvili is officially announced to face in a UFC bout. Resolution for this market will be based on the next UFC fighter that Merab Dvalishvili is officially announced to fight, regardless of whether the fight ends up taking place. Only official announcements from the UFC, which include a scheduled date for the bout, will count. Announcements with no date or which do not confirm that the fight is official, speculation, or other unofficial announcements will not count. If Dvalishvili is officially announced to fight any non-listed fighter or no qualifying announcement is made by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC (https://www.ufc.com/).

Merab Dvalishvili's next opponent is overwhelmingly expected to be Petr Yan in a bantamweight trilogy bout, as multiple reports indicate the matchup is being finalized for a fall 2026 numbered event in Abu Dhabi. The dominant consensus stems from Dvalishvili's repeated public insistence on the rematch following his December 2025 title loss to Yan at UFC 323, combined with the fighters' 1-1 rivalry history and the UFC's apparent willingness to accommodate the high-demand pairing after Yan's recovery period. Other ranked contenders such as Cory Sandhagen, Umar Nurmagomedov, or Song Yadong register minimal implied probability because they lack comparable recent momentum or confirmed scheduling traction. A realistic shift could occur if Yan faces extended medical clearance issues or if the promotion prioritizes an interim title scenario, though current reporting shows both sides aligned on proceeding.
