Dell’s upcoming September 1 earnings call follows a blockbuster Q1 FY2027 that delivered $43.8 billion in revenue, up 88% year-over-year, fueled by $24.4 billion in AI server orders and a record $51.3 billion AI backlog. Traders are focused on whether management will reaffirm or raise its sharply lifted full-year guidance of roughly $167 billion revenue and $17-plus EPS, while addressing persistent memory chip shortages that have prompted price hikes and compressed discounting. Recent moves into hybrid and agentic AI infrastructure, including new NVIDIA Vera Rubin-based PowerEdge servers and enterprise PC offerings, reinforce Dell’s positioning against HPE and Supermicro, though concerns persist about demand pull-forwards versus sustainable growth. Investor conferences in September could provide additional color on supply and competitive dynamics.
