Jackson McVey enters as the slight favorite against Wes Schultz in this middleweight prelims bout at UFC Fight Night Sacramento, bolstered by a first-round D’Arce choke submission of Sedriques Dumas in April that snapped a two-fight UFC skid. The 6'4" McVey brings a high finishing rate and recent momentum after early submission losses, while holding a notable height edge. Schultz, 30, rides a third-round guillotine win over Ben Johnston from May and boasts a strong grappling record, but he has landed limited striking volume in his two UFC outings. The pair share history, with Schultz submitting McVey by armbar in 2020. Both fighters lean heavily on submissions, pointing to a grappling-heavy contest where McVey’s rebound form and physical tools shape current trader consensus on the implied probabilities.
