Mario Pinto enters this heavyweight prelim as the consensus favorite, driven by his perfect 12-0 record, three UFC wins featuring multiple knockouts, and strong recent form including a unanimous decision over Felipe Franco. The 28-year-old Portuguese fighter brings elite striking accuracy, takedown defense, and finishing power that align with heavy market pricing. Ryan Spann counters with 24 career wins, three victories in his last four outings at heavyweight—including stoppages of Ovince Saint Preux and Marcus Buchecha—plus superior experience and grappling variety that could test Pinto on the ground. Both fighters share identical height and reach, setting up a matchup where Spann’s well-rounded veteran presence creates realistic upset scenarios despite Pinto’s momentum.
