Rei Tsuruya enters this flyweight prelim with an 11-1 record and strong recent momentum, including a first-round neck crank submission of Luis Gurule in May that extended his win streak. The 24-year-old Japanese prospect favors grappling exchanges and defensive scrambling, contrasting with Kevin Borjas's aggressive striking style and knockout power. Borjas, at 11-5, gained traction with a June unanimous decision upset over undefeated Andre Lima but carries a 2-4 UFC mark and prior stoppage losses. Traders view Tsuruya as the heavy favorite given his finishing rate, head-to-head stylistic edge, and path toward flyweight rankings contention on the Shanghai card.
