Shakhtar Donetsk enter the UEFA Champions League league-phase clash against AEK Athens at Stamford Bridge on strong domestic momentum, with a five-match winning streak and five consecutive clean sheets across competitions after a 1-1 draw with PSV in their UCL opener. Key absences include forward Eguinaldo (shoulder) and defender Irakli Azarovi (knee), while AEK miss striker Barnabás Varga (thigh) and goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha (wrist). AEK arrive unbeaten in 11 matches overall and with a 1-0 win over LASK in their group opener, showing strong duel-winning rates and chance creation. Player-prop markets reflect interest in attackers such as Gleiker Mendoza and Isaque for Shakhtar alongside AEK options like Luka Jovic and Răzvan Marin, shaped by both sides’ attacking intent, recent shot volumes, and how absences reshape starting lineups and set-piece responsibilities.
