Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars currently lead rest-of-season and season-long fantasy D/ST projections amid the 2026 NFL campaign. These units benefit from favorable remaining schedules, strong sack and takeaway rates through Week 6, and consistent points-allowed suppression. Vikings top several expert consensus lists due to their high projected output and favorable upcoming matchups, while Seahawks maintain elite rankings from sustained defensive efficiency. Texans and Jaguars feature in top-five groupings thanks to turnover creation and schedule strength, with Broncos also frequently cited for similar reasons. Late-season variables including injuries to key defensive linemen or linebackers, weather in outdoor venues, and playoff implications for contending teams could shift cumulative fantasy totals, as D/ST scoring rewards sacks, interceptions, fumble recoveries, and low points allowed. Trader consensus reflects these measurable trends rather than any single week’s results.

Rules

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the named team defense/special teams (D/ST) unit finishes the 2026-27 NFL regular season (Weeks 1 through 18) ranked among the top 5 D/ST units by total fantasy points under standard PPR (points-per-reception) scoring per the default scoring of ESPN Fantasy Sports. Otherwise, that market will resolve to "No". Only regular-season games count; postseason (playoff) games are excluded. If two or more D/ST units are tied such that more than 5 would qualify for the top 5, the tie will be broken by higher fantasy points per game average for the 2026 NFL regular season, and if a tie still persists, by team name in alphabetical order, so that exactly 5 D/ST units are classified as top 5. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or the rankings cannot be determined within this timeframe, all markets in this event will resolve to "No". The resolution source will be official season-total statistics as reported by ESPN Fantasy Sports (https://www.espn.com/fantasy/).
