The End of Oak Street opened to strong early critical consensus, landing in the mid-80s on the Tomatometer with its first wave of reviews hailing director David Robert Mitchell’s lean, gory sci-fi thriller as an entertaining ’80s-style popcorn ride filled with dinosaur action and practical thrills. Positive notices for Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s family survival story, combined with favorable comparisons to Jurassic Park, have fueled trader optimism for a final score comfortably above 80 percent. With the film’s August 14 wide release and IMAX rollout now underway, additional critic scores and audience reaction will determine whether momentum holds or dips as volume increases toward the typical post-opening stabilization period.
