Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic adaptation of “The Dog Stars,” starring Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley, opens in wide release on August 28 with no critic reviews available yet, leaving Rotten Tomatoes scores to be shaped by early embargo reactions and premiere buzz. Elordi’s recent awards momentum from Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” adds visibility, while Scott’s track record in the genre fuels expectations around atmospheric tension and production values. The ten-day window before opening means any late screening feedback or first-wave critic quotes could quickly move implied probabilities, especially if the film lands in the typical 60–75% range for mid-budget studio sci-fi thrillers.
