The 2026 NFL season has produced a wide-open AP Defensive Player of the Year race, with trader consensus reflecting a tightly bunched field led by Will Anderson Jr. at 32% implied probability. Multiple edge rushers and interior defenders including Aidan Hutchinson, T.J. Watt, Fred Warner, and Zack Baun sit in the 5-12% range, while a long list of additional candidates from Micah Parsons to Patrick Surtain II hover near 1.5-3%, underscoring league-wide depth at the position. Recent weekly performances, official injury designations, and team defensive rankings have prevented any single player from separating, as consistent production across sacks, tackles for loss, and coverage metrics keeps the market competitive through midseason. Situational factors such as home/away splits and schedule strength continue to drive incremental shifts without establishing a clear frontrunner.
This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 Associated Press (AP) NFL Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2026-27 NFL season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by NFL rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026-27 NFL season is cancelled, postponed after February 28, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
