Incumbent Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty secured her party’s nomination in the May 2026 primary and faces Republican nominee Cleophus Dulaney in Ohio’s 3rd congressional district, which encompasses urban and inner-suburban portions of Franklin County around Columbus. The seat’s consistent Democratic lean, reflected in prior general-election margins exceeding 20 points and nonpartisan ratings classifying it as Solid or Safe Democratic, underpins traders’ strong consensus. Beatty’s established incumbency, name recognition, and comfortable primary performance contrast with limited Republican infrastructure and Dulaney’s earlier unsuccessful bids. With the November 3, 2026 general election still months away, the dominant Democratic position rests on these structural factors. Late developments such as an unexpected candidate withdrawal, significant health event, or unusually large national political swing would be required to meaningfully alter the outcome.
