Estonia is currently scheduled to indirectly elect a new president on September 2, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of President of Estonia by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must be officially sworn in as President of Estonia. Any interim or caretaker President will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such President takes office by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Estonia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Ülle Madise holds a commanding lead in trader consensus for Estonia's next president due to her status as the consensus nominee backed by four parliamentary parties holding a combined majority in the 101-seat Riigikogu. With nominations opening August 21 and the first vote scheduled for September 2, she has secured signatures from 62 MPs—six short of the 68 needed for election in parliament—after confirming her candidacy and receiving endorsements from Reform, SDE, Estonia 200, and Isamaa. Incumbent Alar Karis ruled out seeking a second term, removing a potential alternative. Other listed individuals lack comparable cross-party support or formal nominations, keeping their implied probabilities minimal. Shifts could occur only if negotiations fracture before the vote or if no candidate reaches the threshold, moving selection to an electoral college.
