Early season results are already reshaping perceptions of College Football Playoff contenders after Week 1. Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, LSU, and Miami posted dominant opening wins that reinforced their preseason positioning, while Oregon and Notre Dame faced tighter contests that prompted minor ranking adjustments. The 12-team format rewards Power conference champions and strong at-large candidates, making strength of schedule, conference standings, and quarterback play critical variables. Defending champion Indiana and programs like Alabama and Ole Miss carry high expectations but face demanding early tests. Roster health, transfer impacts, and upcoming conference matchups will drive further shifts in implied probabilities as the regular season progresses.
