The 2026-27 NBA season opens with strong depth across both conferences, as preseason projections from multiple models place 12–16 teams on pace for 40-plus regular-season wins. Oklahoma City and San Antonio headline the West with 55–63 win forecasts behind elite net ratings and returning cores, while the East features New York, Boston, Detroit, and Cleveland clustered near 46–55 wins. Key variables include injury management for stars such as Victor Wembanyama and Jalen Brunson, load management on back-to-backs, and schedule strength once the full slate begins October 20. Mid-tier clubs like Houston, Denver, and Miami sit near the 40-win threshold, where small swings in roster health or late-season rest decisions can shift totals. The competitive balance reflected in current pricing underscores how front-office decisions and in-season adjustments will determine the final count of 40-win teams.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Atlanta Hawks win 40 or more games during the 2026-27 NBA regular season. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only wins in 2026-27 NBA regular-season games count. NBA Cup group-play and knockout games other than the NBA Cup Championship game are regular-season games and count. Preseason, NBA Cup Championship game, Play-In Tournament and playoff games do not count. The 2026-27 NBA regular season is scheduled to run from October 20, 2026 to April 11, 2027. If at any point it becomes impossible for the Atlanta Hawks to win 40 or more games during the 2026-27 NBA regular season (e.g. they are mathematically eliminated), this market will resolve to "No". If the 2026-27 NBA regular season is cancelled, shortened, or postponed after April 25, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Yes" if the Atlanta Hawks have won 40 or more regular-season games by that time, and otherwise to "No". The primary resolution source will be official information from the NBA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
