The Western Conference entering the 2026-27 season features a clear hierarchy led by the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, who enter as the consensus frontrunners to secure the top seeds and deep playoff runs. Victor Wembanyama's continued development alongside a veteran Spurs core that reached the prior Finals contrasts with the Thunder's elite depth, versatile roster construction under Mark Daigneault, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP-level play. Contenders including the Denver Nuggets behind Nikola Jokic, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers face steeper paths due to gaps in talent and experience. Key variables include early-season injury reports, load management decisions, and how regular-season form translates to playoff matchups, with the top two teams widely viewed by traders as the primary candidates to reach the conference finals.
This market will resolve “Yes” if the listed team reaches the Western Conference Finals of the 2027 NBA Playoffs. If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed team to advance to the Western Conference Finals of the 2027 NBA Playoffs (e.g. they are mathematically eliminated), the associated market will resolve to "No". If the 2027 NBA Playoffs are cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET or the Western Conference Finals matchups have not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NBA (https://www.nba.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
