The 2025-26 Eastern Conference first-round matchups featured strong regular-season performers like the top-seeded Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks against lower seeds including the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors. Recent form, home-court advantage, and injury reports shaped early series momentum, with the Knicks delivering dominant performances and the 76ers advancing past Boston in a competitive series. Cleveland overcame Toronto before a grueling seven-game battle with Detroit, where rebounding and bench production proved decisive. These outcomes reflected the wisdom of crowds pricing in regular-season records, head-to-head trends, and rest advantages heading into the conference semifinals.
