The Rays-Tigers first-five-innings market sits at a dead heat because both clubs enter with starters capable of limiting damage through five frames at Comerica Park. Tampa Bay’s Drew Rasmussen has posted a 2.31 ERA across six straight wins, giving the AL East leaders (77-53) a strong early-game edge, yet Detroit counters with Framber Valdez aiming to stabilize after recent outings and benefits from home-field familiarity. The Tigers (61-69) have shown enough offensive pop in the opening innings to keep contests close, while the Rays’ balanced lineup and bullpen depth limit blowout risk before the sixth. With neither side holding a clear statistical or situational advantage in the short sample, trader pricing reflects the evenly matched pitching and the inherent variability of a half-game sample.
