The San Francisco Giants host the St. Louis Cardinals to open a three-game series at Oracle Park, where the Giants enter as slight favorites thanks to Logan Webb’s start and home-field edge despite their 59-85 record. The Cardinals sit at 72-72 and have posted a stronger 6-4 mark over their last 10 games, fueled by consistent production from Jordan Walker and Alec Burleson. Multiple injuries on both sides—including Cardinals infielders Masyn Winn and JJ Wetherholt plus Giants arms and position players—have thinned lineups and bullpens. Recent offensive output favors St. Louis, while Webb’s command gives San Francisco a narrow edge in a matchup that projects as closely contested.
