The Milwaukee Brewers hold a commanding nine-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central standings at 87-53, bolstered by a recent stretch of six wins in eight games and a dominant 3-1 series edge at Wrigley Field. Milwaukee's pitching edge stands out with Logan Henderson (9-2, 2.48 ERA) starting against Kevin Gausman, while Jackson Chourio's multi-hit power surge and a deep bullpen have fueled consistent run support. The Cubs (78-62) show offensive flashes from Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman but have dropped six of eight amid defensive lapses and inconsistent starting pitching. This matchup favors the Brewers' superior depth and division momentum heading into the late-season stretch.
