The Arizona Diamondbacks (68-62) host the Cincinnati Reds (62-68) on August 23 at Chase Field in a rubber match, with the D-backs holding a 3-2 edge in the season series. Arizona enters with strong home form (37-28) and playoff urgency two games back of the final NL wild-card spot, despite multiple key injuries including Ketel Marte (knee) and several starters. The Reds, 19 games out in the NL Central, snapped a shutout loss with an 11-5 victory on Saturday powered by JJ Bleday’s cycle and Elly De La Cruz’s four hits, but remain 4-6 in their last 10. Probable starters Andrew Abbott (6-8, 4.07 ERA) and Mitch Bratt (1-2, 4.17 ERA) face lineups thinned by injuries on both sides. Trader pricing reflects the D-backs’ home advantage and motivation against Cincinnati’s road inconsistencies and depleted roster.
