This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 28 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksea This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data is unavailable or missing for the observation period, Weather Underground will be used as the secondary resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Forecasts for Seattle on August 28, 2026, place the daily minimum temperature in the mid-to-upper 50s°F, aligning with the closely matched market-implied probabilities for 54–55°F, 56–57°F, and 58–59°F ranges. Official guidance from the National Weather Service and private models shows an overnight low near 55–58°F after a daytime high around 70–72°F under partly to mostly cloudy skies with light southwest winds. Key scientific drivers include the persistent marine layer off the Pacific Northwest coast, which moderates temperatures through increased cloud cover and higher humidity that reduces overnight radiative cooling. Dew points near 54°F and light winds limit further drops, while any late-evening showers could slightly suppress the minimum by enhancing downward mixing. Historical climatology for the date shows an average low of 55.8°F, providing a baseline against which current model consensus sits slightly above normal due to the seasonal marine influence. Trader sentiment reflects genuine uncertainty in exact resolution thresholds, as small variations in cloud timing or local siting can shift the observed minimum across the 54–59°F bands. Upcoming hourly updates from NOAA and refined model runs will likely narrow this spread before the calendar day ends.
