This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.
Persistent cloud cover, showers, and thunderstorms driven by a broad low-pressure trough and remnants of tropical cyclone activity across the northern South China Sea are moderating overnight temperatures in Hong Kong. Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory and multiple models indicate a September 1 low near 26°C amid northerly winds of 4–6 on the Beaufort scale, high humidity (75–95%), and significant rainfall probability. This aligns with climatological norms for early September, where average lows hover around 25–26°C under similar unsettled conditions. Trader consensus favoring 26°C (52.0% implied probability) reflects this model agreement and the limited scope for substantial cooling without clearer skies or a stronger northerly surge. Cooler outcomes below 22°C carry higher uncertainty given the current warm, moist air mass, while the market-implied odds appropriately discount extremes as new forecast updates arrive.
