This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 27 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.
Persistent south to southwest monsoon flow and a broad low-pressure trough are sustaining humid, cloudy conditions with frequent showers and thunderstorms over Hong Kong, limiting nocturnal radiative cooling ahead of August 27. Official Hong Kong Observatory guidance projects daytime highs near 31°C and overnight minima around 27°C amid 75-95% relative humidity, while ensemble models and nearby observations indicate potential for localized dips to 26°C in less urbanized sites where wind speeds ease. High moisture content and persistent cloud cover reduce the typical 3-5°C diurnal drop seen in drier subtropical nights, aligning trader consensus on 26°C as the most probable daily minimum. Updated HKO briefings and refined model runs through the evening of August 26 will refine exact thresholds before resolution.
