This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 26 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.
Persistent southerly airflow and scattered thundery showers across Hong Kong on August 26 are moderating overnight radiative cooling, supporting official Hong Kong Observatory guidance for a minimum near 27°C. Active convection tied to a weakening tropical cyclone over the northern South China Sea increases cloud cover and humidity, which historically limits the diurnal temperature range in subtropical coastal environments. Recent model consensus from regional forecasts shows nighttime lows holding between 26–28°C, with localized urban heat-island effects and rainfall timing as key variables that could shift the recorded minimum at the reference station. Traders have priced 26°C as the modal outcome, reflecting these moisture-laden conditions rather than drier subsidence that would allow deeper cooling toward 24–25°C. Updated Observatory bulletins and hourly observations through the evening will refine resolution probabilities ahead of market close.
