This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Trader sentiment for the lowest temperature in Austin on August 23, 2026, centers on 74-75°F due to actual overnight observations aligning with typical late-summer climatology. Austin's average August low hovers near 75°F, with radiative cooling often limited by high humidity and dew points around 70°F. On this date, persistent southerly flow, elevated moisture, and minimal clear-sky cooling under a lingering heat ridge produced a minimum in the mid-70s, consistent with National Weather Service and ensemble guidance that initially targeted the upper 70s. This outcome matches historical patterns where August lows rarely dip below 70°F without a strong frontal passage. With resolution imminent based on official station data, the market-implied probability has consolidated sharply around the observed range.
