Both teams enter this Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage best-of-three elimination match at 0-2, with the loser facing immediate tournament exit after opening-round Bo1 defeats. Team Liquid dropped games to CTBC Flying Oyster and Bilibili Gaming following a strong LCS Summer playoff run that included series wins over FlyQuest, Cloud9, and LYON. Anyone’s Legend, the LPL champion, lost to Karmine Corp and Top Esports despite a dominant domestic season. The matchup pits LCS first seed Team Liquid—featuring veteran support CoreJJ alongside top laner Morgan, jungler Josedeodo, mid laner Quid, and ADC Yeon—against LPL first seed Anyone’s Legend with top laner Breathe, jungler Tarzan, mid laner Shanks, ADC Hope, and support Kael. No prior head-to-head exists in recent years, and the high-stakes format amplifies the impact of draft execution and early objective control in a single-elimination setting.
