Racing Santander hosts Villarreal in the La Liga opener at El Sardinero on August 16, with both sides entering at 0-0-0 after limited pre-season results. Home advantage and solid recent defensive organization give Racing a slight edge in early scoring probability, yet Villarreal's technical quality in transition keeps the first-goal market tightly contested. Multiple absences, including Gerard Moreno, Santi Comesaña, and Juan Foyth for the visitors plus key Racing forwards on the injury list, limit attacking depth on both sides and raise the chance of a scoreless opening period. Historical head-to-head patterns and typical La Liga Week 1 caution further compress implied probabilities near even odds across Real Racing Club, Villarreal, and neither.
