After ten matchweeks of the 2026/27 Meiji Yasuda J1 League, Tokyo Verdy sits bottom on 4 points with zero wins, Gamba Osaka and JEF United Chiba occupy the other relegation spots on 7 and 6 points, and Avispa Fukuoka sits just above on 7 points in a tight cluster. The bottom six teams are separated by only five points, with recent results showing continued struggles for the promoted sides and Gamba Osaka amid a poor run of form. Sanfrecce Hiroshima, FC Machida Zelvia, and FC Tokyo lead the table on 23 points each after strong recent streaks, while mid-table sides like Vissel Kobe and Kashiwa Reysol remain competitive higher up. With 28 rounds remaining, results in direct relegation clashes, squad depth, and fixture congestion will shape whether the current bottom three hold or if teams such as Kyoto Sanga or V-Varen Nagasaki slide into danger.
