Vegalta Sendai leads the 2026/27 Meiji Yasuda J2 League after 11 rounds on 24 points, powered by seven wins and a four-match winning streak before a 0-0 draw with Tokushima Vortis. RB Omiya Ardija and Albirex Niigata sit two points behind on 20, though both dropped points in matchweek 11 as Omiya suffered its first loss and Niigata conceded five against Oita Trinita. The top two earn automatic promotion to J1 for 2027-28, while third through sixth contest playoffs for the final spot. Early momentum favors sides with recent top-flight experience such as Yokohama FC, Shonan Bellmare, and newly relegated clubs, but the 38-match schedule through May 2027 will reward consistency, squad depth, and results in a tightly bunched table where 12 teams sit within four points of eighth place.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team achieves promotion from the J2 League to the Japan J. League for the 2027-28 season at the conclusion of the current league season. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Official promotion is defined as a team clinching a place in the Japan J. League for the 2027-28 season through their final standing in the J2 League, via playoff victory, or by any other official league decision recognized by the J2 League and Japan J. League. If the 2026-27 J2 League season is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there are no teams confirmed for promotion within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be official announcements from the J2 League and Japan J. League. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
