Carolyn Ansari holds a substantial ranking edge over Marjorie Souza entering their first-round clash on outdoor hard courts at the ITF W35 Barueri. The American sits near WTA No. 250 with consistent 2026 results across higher-level hard-court events, including multiple ITF wins and recent WTA qualifying appearances, while the Brazilian home player ranks around No. 770. Souza has shown solid recent form on Brazilian hard courts with several victories in W15-level draws, yet faces a steep step up in opponent quality. Both players compete regularly on the surface, and the local crowd could provide Souza extra motivation in the opening round of the $30,000 event.
