Kasidit Samrej enters this M25 Taipei 2 hard-court second-round matchup as the clear favorite, backed by his ATP ranking of 482 (career high 346) and stronger recent hard-court results compared to Kai-I Wang’s lower-tier standing around 1526. Samrej arrives after a straight-sets win over Yuki Mochizuki and maintains a solid 2026 hard-court record with multiple ITF titles, while the 22-year-old local Wang has compiled a mixed 3-4 mark this year and just defeated Ryota Tanuma. Both players compete on familiar regional hard courts with limited rest between rounds, but Samrej’s greater experience, serve-return consistency, and break-point conversion in recent matches give him the edge in this best-of-three encounter.
