Makoto Ochi, the more experienced 30-year-old Japanese left-hander ranked near 877-1142, enters this M25 Urayasu encounter with stronger recent hard-court form from July 2026 events in Tokyo, where he secured multiple qualifying and main-draw wins before quarterfinal exits. Younger opponent Yu Tanaka (born 2003, ranked around 2194) has shown flashes in lower-tier M15 events but carries a lower win rate against established ITF competition. Both players compete on familiar Japanese hard courts, where Ochi's greater match volume and head-to-head edge in regional events shape trader consensus around his implied probability advantage, though Tanaka's age and potential for upsets remain variables in this level matchup.
