Momoko Kobori holds a significant ranking edge (around WTA 372 vs. Jiangxue Han’s 876) and greater ITF experience, including four singles titles, positioning her as the clear favorite on the outdoor hard courts at the W15 Tianjin 4. Kobori arrives with momentum after defeating Maria Kalyakina in straight sets (including a tiebreak) on August 25, while Han, a lower-ranked Chinese player, has shown inconsistent results this season with several early exits and a retirement win in the same event series. Their lone prior singles meeting saw Han prevail in late 2025, but Kobori’s superior head-to-head history on hard, career longevity, and stronger recent hard-court form outweigh that result for most traders. Local support for Han and the low-level event’s inherent variance remain secondary factors.
