Alessandra Mazzola holds the ranking edge at approximately WTA 390 versus Iva Ivanova’s 640, giving the Italian more consistent ITF-level experience on clay. Both players enter the W35 Bistrita first-round match after recent losses in Romanian ITF events—Ivanova fell to Carolina Kuhl in three sets at W35 Buzau, while Mazzola dropped a three-setter to Yelyzaveta Kotliar at Targu Mures. Mazzola also leads their head-to-head 1-0. The 19-year-old Bulgarian brings youthful athleticism and improving results on the surface, yet the 26-year-old’s higher ranking, prior clay-court exposure, and steadier recent form shape the current trader consensus favoring Mazzola to advance. No major injuries or withdrawals have been reported ahead of the outdoor clay encounter.
