Niklas Guttau enters the M25 Poznan first round on clay with stronger recent momentum than Kacper Knitter. The 26-year-old German left-hander captured the M15 Bastad title the prior week, posting multiple straight-set wins on the surface after a solid run through earlier Polish clay events. Guttau holds a modest ranking edge and greater experience at this level. Knitter, an 18-year-old Polish left-hander, has posted mixed 2026 results with several early exits on clay and limited success against comparable opposition. The all-lefty matchup on home-soil clay offers Knitter a familiarity advantage, yet Guttau’s sharper form and recent title suggest traders view him as the clearer favorite in this opener.
