Gabriel Ghetu enters the M15 Bucharest 3 semifinal on clay with a higher ranking near 620 and stronger 2026 form (roughly 27-12 overall, including multiple clay wins in Romanian events). The 18-year-old Romanian has advanced with straight-set victories over Stefan Adrian Andreescu and Giannicola Misasi, plus a retirement win, capitalizing on home-soil support and consistent baseline play. Anas Mazdrashki, ranked around 857-907, counters with his own semifinal run via wins over Sebastian Gima and others, building on a career-first ITF final appearance earlier in 2026 and solid clay results (28-18 career on the surface). Their only prior meeting on clay in June 2026 went to Mazdrashki in straight sets. Ghetu’s superior ranking and recent consistency contrast with Mazdrashki’s experience edge at age 20.
