Filip Jeff Planinsek, the higher-ranked Slovenian at No. 521 with a strong 22-9 clay record in 2026, faces compatriot Sebastian Dominko in the M25 Maribor semifinal on clay. Planinsek enters on solid recent form, including straight-set quarterfinal wins over Valerio Aboian and others after navigating earlier rounds, while leveraging home-soil familiarity in his birthplace. Dominko, ranked around No. 900-1082 and standing 203 cm as a left-hander, has posted a 13-5 overall mark this year with efficient victories in the draw, including a three-set quarterfinal over Dimitar Kuzmanov. The pair have no prior singles head-to-head but team successfully in doubles at the event. Both players excel on clay with comparable win rates near 60 percent career-wide, making serve consistency, return pressure on second serves, and break-point conversion the decisive factors in this closely matched local semifinal.
