Canada maintains the narrowest edge in the 2027 IIHF World Championship futures at 19.5% implied probability, reflecting its unmatched NHL roster depth and historical medal consistency, while the United States, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland sit tightly grouped behind. Finland’s 2026 gold medal win and Switzerland’s repeated runner-up finishes underscore how cohesive European lineups and strong goaltending can offset North American talent advantages in a short tournament. Germany’s hosting role provides a modest home boost but does little to close the talent gap evident in recent results. With full NHL participation still uncertain and rosters subject to late changes, trader consensus treats the field as wide open among the top six to eight nations.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team is determined as the champion of the 2027 IIHF World Championship. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to be named as the champion of the 2027 IIHF World Championship per the rules of the IIHF (e.g., the team is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 13, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the IIHF (https://www.iihf.com/en/events/2027/wm); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
