This market will resolve based on the highest temperature recorded in the 'Daily Observations' table on Weather Underground, not the figure displayed in the 'Day High & Low' summary section; in the event of any discrepancy between the two, the Daily Observations table shall be the primary resolution source not the Day High & Low section. This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 16 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/cn/wuhan/ZHHH. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Trader consensus centers on 33°C as the most probable high for Wuhan on August 16, 2026 (41.5% implied probability), followed by 32°C and 34°C. This distribution reflects typical mid-August conditions under a strengthening subtropical high-pressure system over central China, which favors clear to partly cloudy skies and daytime heating in the Jianghan Plain region. Official forecasts from sources such as the National Meteorological Center and international models indicate a daily high near 33°C (around 93°F), consistent with historical August averages of 32–33°C in Wuhan. Recent developments include an extended period of above-normal warmth and humidity across Hubei province, driven by the merger of subtropical and continental high pressure after earlier tropical storm activity. This pattern has sustained elevated temperatures while increasing the chance of isolated late-day thundershowers that could cap peak readings slightly below model maxima. Key variables influencing the tight clustering around 32–34°C include afternoon cloud cover, wind speeds, and the urban heat island effect in the densely built city. The market’s low odds on extremes (under 1% for 37°C or higher, or 30°C or below) align with the limited variability expected in these stable synoptic conditions, though updated model runs or unexpected convective development tomorrow could shift probabilities before resolution.
