Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Trader sentiment for Wellington’s highest temperature on August 26 centers on recent MetService and model guidance pointing to a 14–15 °C peak under strengthening northwesterlies and increasing cloud. Northwesterly flow typically advects milder maritime air across the region, consistent with above-average readings observed in the prior week (highs reaching 17 °C on 23 August). Forecast consensus shows partly cloudy to overcast skies with a chance of showers, which limits daytime heating and caps the upside. Historical climatology for late August places mean maxima near 13–14 °C, but the current synoptic pattern supports a modest positive anomaly. With only 48 hours until resolution, traders appear to weigh the balance between persistent northerlies favoring 16 °C and increasing cloud/shower potential anchoring the market around 15 °C.
