Recent official forecasts from MetService, the Met Office, and WeatherBug converge on a high of 14–15°C for Wellington on August 24 under mostly sunny skies and moderate northwesterly winds, consistent with the market’s heavy weighting toward 15°C (58.5%) and 16°C (26.5%). These conditions reflect a stable late-winter pattern with no incoming cold fronts or significant cloud cover to limit daytime heating, while climatological averages for the date hover near 12–13°C. Model consensus and the absence of precipitation risk have reinforced trader expectations that the daily maximum will fall squarely in the 14–16°C range, with only modest probability assigned to outliers.
