Official National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on August 24, 2026, call for a high near 67°F under partly cloudy skies with onshore southwest-to-west winds of 10–20 mph strengthening in the afternoon, consistent with the dominant marine layer that typically caps summer highs in the city. This aligns with the market’s concentration on 68–73°F outcomes, where traders appear to incorporate minor model spread, microclimate differences between downtown stations and the airport, and the long-term August average high of roughly 70°F. Persistent onshore flow and a shallow marine layer suppress stronger warming despite clear periods, keeping probabilities for 74°F+ low while historical precedents for the date show occasional excursions above 75°F only under rare offshore wind events. Today’s official observations will resolve the market directly.
