This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources converge on mostly sunny skies with west-northwest winds of 5-10 mph for New York City on August 25, supporting surface heating under high pressure. This setup favors a daily maximum in the upper 70s to low 80s, with the precise peak hinging on afternoon convective development that could shave 1-2°F through cloud cover or brief showers. Urban heat island effects at Central Park and slight model spread in boundary-layer moisture create the narrow gap between 78-79°F and 80-81°F bins, while climatological August norms near 83°F underscore why traders assign low probability to 82°F-plus outcomes. Updated model runs overnight will refine these thresholds ahead of market resolution.
