Recent National Weather Service guidance centers the August 23 high in New York City near 82°F beneath mostly cloudy skies and a 50% chance of showers, anchoring trader consensus on the 80–83°F bins that together exceed 75% implied probability. Persistent cloud cover limits daytime heating while scattered precipitation and northeasterly flow enhance evaporative cooling, keeping surface temperatures below the long-term Central Park normal of 83°F. Ensemble model runs show limited spread around this value, with only modest upside risk if skies clear earlier than expected. Updated NWS forecast discussions and morning model cycles tomorrow will provide the final inputs before the market resolves at midnight.
