This market will resolve based on the highest temperature recorded in the 'Daily Observations' table on Weather Underground, not the figure displayed in the 'Day High & Low' summary section; in the event of any discrepancy between the two, the Daily Observations table shall be the primary resolution source not the Day High & Low section. This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the King Abdulaziz International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 19 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the King Abdulaziz International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/sa/jeddah/OEJN. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Forecast consensus from sources like the BBC, AccuWeather, and Saudi National Center for Meteorology centers on a daily maximum of 38–39 °C for Jeddah on August 19, aligning with the market's tight clustering around those outcomes (44.5% and 35%). This reflects Jeddah’s Red Sea coastal setting, where persistent northwesterly winds and marine influence typically cap daytime peaks near long-term August averages of ~38 °C, even under clear skies and high solar insolation. Recent model runs show minimal deviation from climatology, with no strong high-pressure ridge or suppressed sea breezes to push readings toward 40 °C or above. Historical August maxima in the city hover in this range, and current surface observations plus short-range guidance indicate only modest day-to-day variability. Traders therefore price the two leading bins highest, while lower-probability tails (41 °C+, 37 °C or below) capture residual uncertainty in exact peak timing, measurement site, or minor forecast adjustments expected from the next model cycle.
