Trader consensus centers on 31–32°C as the most probable maximum for Hong Kong on August 22, reflecting August climatology where daily highs typically average near 31–32°C amid subtropical monsoon conditions. Hong Kong Observatory guidance for August–October 2026 indicates normal to above-normal temperatures overall, with high humidity and frequent showers or thunderstorms common during peak typhoon season that can suppress peak readings through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Model runs and historical analogs show narrow day-to-day variability driven by steering flow patterns and local sea-breeze effects, leaving limited scope for extremes above 33°C or below 30°C under current atmospheric setup.
