This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 18 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.

Recent official guidance and model consensus point to afternoon highs near 31–32°C in Hong Kong on August 18, 2026, under typical summer monsoon conditions with high humidity and scattered showers. Convective cloud development and rainfall timing remain the dominant variables: earlier or heavier showers can limit solar heating and cap the daily maximum 1–2°C below guidance, while breaks of sun allow peaks to reach or exceed 32°C. The Hong Kong Observatory’s seasonal outlook for normal-to-above-normal August temperatures provides broad context, yet short-range uncertainty in steering flow and localized urban heat effects keeps the 31°C and 32°C outcomes nearly tied in trader pricing. Updated HKO forecasts and any tropical disturbance signals expected in the next 24–48 hours will likely drive the next meaningful shifts in implied probabilities.
