Recent official forecasts from the Chongqing Meteorological Station highlight persistent subtropical high pressure sustaining hot, humid conditions across the region on August 26, with local highs potentially reaching 40°C and the urban core forecast at 38–39°C amid scattered afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Recent days have seen peaks of 37–39.9°C, providing a baseline for trader expectations. Differentiation between leading outcomes at 38°C and 39°C hinges on variables like cloud cover timing, precipitation intensity in southern districts, and precise observational sites, introducing inherent short-term forecast uncertainty typical of summer convective patterns in the Yangtze basin.
